SES - custom redirect domain links will not work - http 400 error

0

I'm trying to set up open/click using a custom domain. I've done this before with no issues but I just cannot get it to work and properly. Every link I click results in an HTTP 400 error.

I feel like the issue must be somewhere between my CloudFront CDN and the SES tracking domain, but I can't see what's wrong.

I've tried both http and https (SSLv3 and TLS1.1) on the origin. I'm currently using the managed 'caching disabled' cache policy, but I've tried others. Origin path is blank. Origin domain is r.eu-west-2.awstrack.me (which is the SES region I'm using).

When I DON'T use the custom domain everything works fine, my links work and I receive the events no problem. Interestingly when I'm not using a custom domain the links point to domains like p60jqhkj.r.eu-west-2.awstrack.me - with an extra subdomain which isn't mentioned anywhere in the docs or the console. Should I be using this domain as the origin while using a custom domain?!

The docs say "Verify the subdomain for use with Amazon SES." so I've verified my tracking subdomain as a sender too, which I've never had to do before, but that's not made any difference.

Thanks for any help, I've been banging my head on this for days now!
