EBS volume throughput

0

Dear Team - As per https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ebs-volume-types.html, io2 volume type can provide up to 256K IOPS and 4,000 MiB/s of throughput. I wanted to know how much throughput i will get if i provisioned 60K IOPS ? do we have any math to compare the expected throughput based on the IOPS ?

It is really a question of your workload. Throughput is a combination of the IO's per second times the IO size. So you need to consider average io size in order to convert IOPS to throughput.

  • ok i was doing this math considering 16KiB of I/O 60000 * 16 KiB = 960000 KiB 960000 KiB / 1024 = 937 MiB throughput hope this is best guess if i have to do ?
