Hello All, We are trying to migrate our existing transcode workflow over to AWS Media Live via storing the HLS segments into S3 directly for our platform to pickup. Everything is stored in the same directory in S3. When I am setting this up as expected in Media Live I don't see a configuration that would result in the main manifest having a distinct name from the child manifest and ts segments. **Current Result** Main Manifest /desktop-playlist.m3u8 Child Manifest /desktop-playlist-1228k.m3u8 /desktop-playlist-2128k.m3u8 TS Segment /desktop-playlist-1228k-00000.ts /desktop-playlist-2128k-00000.ts **Desired result** Main Manifest /desktop-playlist.m3u8 Child Manifest /file-1228k.m3u8 /file-2128k.m3u8 TS Segment /file-1228k-00000.ts /file-2128k-00000.ts Please let me know if this is possible or if anyone has any suggestions to try. Thanks, Jay

We're starting to test s3 as a live stream origin for our regular latency live workflows. Currently, we have a number of MediaStore containers with finely tuned lifecycle policies. I'm trying to convert some of these policies to s3 lifecycle rules. The logic seems similar which isn't surprising since MediaStore is built on top of s3. However, I couldn't find any examples in the s3 Lifecycle config [doc](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/intro-lifecycle-rules.html) which addresses the unique needs of live streaming workflows. Basically I'm trying to expire different media fragments and manifest files at varying intervals for different use cases. I'll continue messing around with the LifeCycle Configuration XML but it would be nice to have a quickstart guide. Seems like a good topic for an AWS Media Blog post from Media Service folks looking for extra credit ;-)

Hi, I am learning AWS as I go... I work for a small company that would like to sell video subscriptions. I am looking into MediaConvert, MediaPackage and MediaStore with the plan to embed the output on our website in a secure way (users unable to download). If I had to guess, I would say we have about 20 hours of videos and would stream to about 30 users a month. Am I looking in the right spot or is this overkill?

Hey, yesterday i tried to setup an mp4 movie as a live-stream following these instructions: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/media/metfc-live-stream-pre-recorded-video-using-aws-elemental-medialive/ The input was a 4.4 GB mp4 file and when testing, everything worked fine and i didn't find any issues... When it came to the stream really starting with about ~400 viewers, nearly all users had problems with the stream not running constantly... always having to reload the page where the video-player was embedded (as explained in the link)... so the medialive stream input/output was constantly running and there were no errors/alerts on aws side... i really don't have any idea what could have been wrong here and want to ask what i could have missed? any special settings other than proposed in the link? Would be very thankful for any hint :) Kind regards Simon

Hi, I'm trying to stream HLS on a Raspberry Pi 4 via ffmpeg directly to MediaStore, without using MediaLive. At least, I've confirmed that Camstreamer can skip MediaLive and directly stream to MediaStore. My question: 1. How can I directly stream HLS to MediaStore? 2. Should I use PutObject API to write to MediaStore? (Only way?) 3. How can I continuously do PutObject for HLS files (.ts files) that are generated continuously? This question seems to be related below and helped me a lot, but this didn't answer my above whole questions. Using Wowza Streaming Engine with MediaStore https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=330312&tstart=0 Sample ffmpeg HLS generation (success) ffmpeg -f v4l2 -thread_queue_size 16384 -s 1920x1080 -vsync -1 -i /dev/video0 \ -c:v libx264 -b:v 1000k -bufsize 1000k \ -flags _cgop_loop-global_header \ -bsf:v h264_mp4toannexb \ -f segment -segment_format mpegts -segment_time 10 -segment_list live/channel.m3u8 live/segment%03d.ts Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm assuming this can be done since the user is ultimately accessing the content from a CloudFront distro?

I am able to watch the stream with the .m3u8, but once the stream is turned off, the .m3u8 will not playback anything. I thought it was maybe the Container and CORS, but I am starting to run out of ideas for what I should put instead. The files are SEGMENTED. **Here is the Container Policy:** { "Version" : "2012-10-17", "Statement" : \[ { "Sid" : "MediaStorePublicReadOverHttpOrHttps", "Effect" : "Allow", "Principal" : "*", "Action" : \[ "mediastore:GetObject", "mediastore:DescribeObject" ], "Resource" : "arn:aws:mediastore:us-east-1:724933024435:container/FargoNorth/*", "Condition" : { "Bool" : { "aws:SecureTransport" : "true" } } } ] } **Here is the CORS:** \[ { "AllowedHeaders": \[ "*" ], "AllowedMethods": \[ "GET", "HEAD" ], "AllowedOrigins": \[ "*" ], "ExposeHeaders": \[ "*" ], "MaxAgeSeconds": 3000 } ]

(I'm sorry about my English skill.) Hello. I'm wondering what should I use between MediaStore and MediaPackage. My demand is that when I stream live by (OBS -> MediaLive), AWS also store the stream to VOD. I was already implemented above things => MediaLive to MediaPackage and store to S3. But I recently know that MediaStore also can store the stream(i.e .m3u8 or .ts) and also can stream by live. However, I don't know exactly what difference of MediaStore/MediaPackage. As far as I know is Scenario1: OBS -> MediaLive -> MediaPackage -> CDN -> HLS/VLC Playback (Live) OBS -> MediaLive -> S3 -> MediaConvert -> S3 -> CDN -> HLS/VLC Playback (VOD) Scenario2: OBS -> MediaLive -> MediaStore -> CDN -> HLS/VLC Playback (Live) OBS -> MediaLive -> MediaStore -> CDN -> HLS/VLC Playback (VOD) 1. Please recommend what media service suit for me. 2. And please explain what difference MediaStore/MediaPackage. Thank you!!
