IHAC who is doing scoping with an Architecture using DMS and SCT. I had a few questions I was hoping you can get answered for me. 1. Does AWS DMS support data validation with Cassandra as a source? I don’t see it here - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dms/latest/userguide/CHAP_BestPractices.html#CHAP_BestPractices.DataValidation but I do see Cassandra as a valid source target here https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2018/09/aws-dms-aws-sct-now-support-the-migration-of-apache-cassandra-databases/ 2. Does AWS DMS support ongoing replication with Cassandra as a source? Reading the docs it looks like if I wanted to extract data from Cassandra and write to s3 (Using DMS) then post process that data into a different format (Like json) and write to a different S3 bucket, I could so by attaching a Lamba to the original S3 event from the DMS extract and drop. Can you confirm my understanding? 3. How is incremental data loaded ongoing after initial load from Cassandra (with DMS)? In the docs it looks like its stored in s3 in csv form. Does it write 1 csv per source table and keep appending or updating the existing csv? does it create 1 csv per row, per batch...etc? I’m wondering how the event in step 3 would be triggered if I did want to continuously post process updates as they come in in real time and covert source data from Cassandra into Json data I store on s3.

How to migrate DB on premise Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server DB in AWS. We see SCT will not allow MS SQL Server as Target when source is Oracle. Looking for tools like SCT to move Schema from Oracle. We see SCT is useful to move Source Schema (Eg: Oracle ) to Target Schema DB (Eg: Aurora Postgres) and other limited DB combinations. Now requirement is to migrate from On-premise Oracle to MS SQL Server in AWS Cloud. Please let me know if anyone has worked on this task.

I would like to know if there a way for me to open a .sct project file without having to navigate to the User Interface > File > Open Project(CTRL+ O). I need to directly open the project with the SCT UI using the CLI.

I used keytool to import the client cert and the key as one certificate and the server CA as its own certificate. And created a jks keystore and added that as a trust store in the SCT tool. But I am unable to establish connection to my MySQL database. I can do that using MySQL Workbench so I know my certs/password etc. work. Please let me know what I could be missing.

Hello All, As of now, SCT doesn't support SAP HANA as one of the source databases. Any other way to migrate the SAP HANA database (schemas, views, procedures, function....) to Redshift? I understand that for data migration, there are many available options (SAP Data Services, Snow family, Glue etc....). Thank You! Rajendran

I am trying to use the AWS Schema Conversion Tool to convert a SQL Server instance running on RDS to Aurora MySQL. I have a large number of databases in the same SQL Server instance, and was able to successfully convert the schema for 5 of them. Then I attempted to use the "Refresh from Database" menu option for one of the databases and received an error stating > Metadata loading was interrupted because of data fetching issues. For details, see the log. On checking the logs, I see the following error that is causing the issue: > Error executing 'load-script-object-ext-properties' query: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Collection specified does not exist in metadata : 'sys' Now I am unable to see the schema of any database on that server, and they ALL fail with the same issue. I have tried creating a new SCT project, and using a different SQL login. I am completely blocked at the moment, and not sure how to progress my migration.

I have a SQL Server 2016 database with several tables and 30+ million rows . Currently the Microsoft instance is on premises but it could be copied onto an EC2 instance. We are still investigating the feasibility of this. The target database is an Aurora PostgreSQL database. We already have a working target schema for PostgreSQL. What i wish to understand is whether SCT can automate the process of comparing the two (similar but not identical schemas) and generate a migration process. Even if there is a fair bit of hand holding and decision making involved - I will consider it a win. Let me know if I need to provide more details to answer the question. Regards

I have installed SQL Server Express Edition and SCT in my system. I tried connecting to SQL Server from SCT. But, while testing, it throws an error saying "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host <hostname>, port 1433 has failed. Error: "Permission denied: connect. Verify the connection properties. Make sure that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port. Make sure that TCP connections to the port are not blocked by a firewall.". Can someone assist. Thanks
