instance re-launch after termination
Hi, I've got a r5a.large instance, which is not in use. when I'm trying to terminate the instance, different instance is being launced automatically. I read that it might be connected to EC2 Auto-Scaling (https://repost.aws/questions/QUE3qVZUzERzeFOzwMMe44gQ/a-new-ec-2-instance-is-created-after-termination-of-the-only-instance), but nothing appears in my console when I'm trying to follow instructions (cannot delete ant auto-scaling group, because I don't have one) (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/autoscaling/ec2/userguide/as-process-shutdown.html). please, help me terminate all EC2s. Thanks, Adi

MSK Failover and OS Patch
IHAC, the customer experienced a failure due to OS Patch failure while using MSK. Our advice on this is to scale up MSK. Here, the customer asked additional questions. 1. What is the minimum period of notice (e-mail) for MSK Patch (a week ago?)? 2. Is the problem caused by the number of partitions or is there any other possible case? 3. The customer is using MSK through a triple redundancy configuration(use multi-az with three instance), so was it impossible to avoid failure through this? I am wondering how to respond when OS Path fails or how to set an alarm. If you have a good guide, please let me know.
Aurora upgrade 2 to 3 / MySql 5.7 to 8.0: potential bug in pre-check validation (depreciated words)
We have noticed that the pre-checks for the upgrade of MySQL 5.7 to MySQL 8 are having issues with character combinations that "resemble" depreciated words. For example, the depreciated "Group By ... DESC" is one of those constructs "[https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/USER_UpgradeDBInstance.MySQL.html#USER_UpgradeDBInstance.MySQL.57to80Prechecks]()" "There must be no queries and stored program definitions from MySQL 8.0.12 or lower that use ASC or DESC qualifiers for GROUP BY clauses." While our stored procedures use Group by's, there is no associated "DESC" word with them. However, the character sequence does appear in the stored procedure in various forms: * There is a call to another stored procedure called "update_fc**desc**ription();". It has the characters "desc" within the name * There are columns in the queries (table columns) with the name "blah**Desc**riptionblah" * There is a block comment that has the word "**Desc**ription:" that describes the stored procedure (documentation) However, there are no "DESC" words associated with the "Group by". For testing, * I deleted the comments word, and that issue no longer appeared as an error * I renamed the call to the other stored procedure update_fc**desc**ription(); to update_fc**dxexscxrixp**tion();, and that issue no longer appeared as an error * The columns that have the characters "desc" I couldn't work around without a lot of changing to the stored procedure It seems that there is a Stackoverflow question outlining this behavior too: [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/71412470/aws-mysql-aurora-major-version-2-3-upgrade-pre-checks-obsolete-procedure]() Also, a "re:Post" question too: [https://repost.aws/questions/QUWJzlcpitRoGM0woZVOylBQ/aurora-2-to-3-mysql-5-7-to-8-0-upgrade-pre-check-incorrect-validation-on-store-procedure]() This is clearly a bug in the pre-check process and is limiting our upgrade from MySQL 5.7 to 8. Any updates on this being fixed/addressed? Thank you.
How can I route traffic depending on setting from parameter store.
Hi, I'm looking to see what options are available and what might be the best practice to accomplish routing HTTP traffic based on a parameter within the parameter store. Currently we have multiple services all sending HTTP traffic to a single URL. This receiving endpoint is about to be duplicated and we will be introducing a setting in the parameter store that will determine whether traffic will be send to endpoint A, or endpoint B. A lambda function is always an option, but I'm looking to see if there's anything already within the managed services side of AWS that can help us. At first ALB seemed a logical choice as that has routing rules, unfortunately it seems the rules can only be determined by attributes of the incoming request, and not a Parameter from the parameter store. So perhaps API gateway could be utilised, but with around a million requests per day, I'm concerned this would be costly and it's also not clear whether I forward traffic based on a setting from the parameter store. Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!
Unable to find 5 active services displayed on Billing Page
I'm using Free Tier account. I have created a EC2 instance (using IAM user) and terminated that instance and deleted IAM user as well. Not sure what's happening, when I check my Billing (in root user account) I see 5 active services namely * Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud(1 GB of Amazon Elastic Block Storage snapshot storage ) * Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud(30 GB of Amazon Elastic Block Storage in any combination of General Purpose (SSD) or Magnetic) * Amazon Simple Storage Service(2,000 Put, Copy, Post or List Requests of Amazon S3) * Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud(750 hours per month of Amazon EC2 Linux, RHEL, or SLES t2.micro or t3.micro instance dependent on region) * AWS Key Management Service( 20,000 free requests per month for AWS Key Management Service) * AWS Data Transfer Out of these Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud(1 GB of Amazon Elastic Block Storage snapshot storage ) is reaching my 1GB limit. When I click on EC2 and check its showing 0 EC2 instance running | 0 Volumes | 0 Snapshots everything is 0. Not sure how to find them and what's happening. This looks scary , I just started learning & no clue what needs to be done. Any help would be appreciated.

Does an IaaS architecture also include services such as AWS (IoT) analytics?
Hello, I have a question regarding cloud service types (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS). For an internship, the company I work at has asked me to look into a specific cloud solution. I wish to create a scalable IoT-capable cloud solution for customers. So in turn, I have done quite a bit of research on cloud/edge computing for the past few weeks. However, one thing still confuses me a little. If I used an IaaS cloud architecture, would I still be able to use services like AWS (IoT) analytics, or would this mean it isn't an IaaS architecture anymore? I looked all over, but I can't find an answer for this specific question. I hoped to find some IaaS/PaaS/SaaS cloud architecture diagrams to gain some clarity, but haven't found these. Could someone help me clarify this? Thank you very much!
How resources are provisioned (through CloudFormation or Manually or Coding) ?
Any method/code/tool can help to find out What are the resources are provisioned with AWS CloudFormation templates (IaC/Automated way) What are the resources are created/provisioned manually through AWS Management Console (UI) ? And Any changes made to those resources after successfully provisioned (either through UI or services) ?
Learning Cloud computing, which service is for me?
So my development background has been backend C++ for the last 10 years, so I like to think I'm pretty proficient in coding but I have almost 0 experience in Cloud or container style projects. In an attempt to learn and do a cool project I came up with an idea to have some kind of distributed gaming experience. The idea is thus, my friends can go to my website and using HTML5 gamepad API be able to use their gamepads to send their gamepad state to a server. The server can take the avg of all these states to create an "avg" state of the controller which will then be sent to the game. The first pass is obviously going to have the game be on my own local computer so I'll need some way for the html page to talk to the server, and for the server to send the gamepad state to my local computer. I'm very new to Cloud and AWS so I just kinda need an idea of what kind of AWS services I should use to build this thing. (Also note, because I'm learning I'm still using the free tier) Note: To also learn about web development, it would be cool if my friends have to login to my website to be able to send their controller state, so some kind of credentials would be nice to have.
