Hi there,
I have few questions on Dynamodb PITR (Point in time Recovery) backup feature. Could you guys clarify on the following
1. How often do the PITR backup scripts run ?
2. Will the backup scripts run for every CRUD operation on the table ?
3. It has been mentioned that we could go back to any point in time in the last 35 days, Incremental backup works in such a way that it takes the difference from the previous backup and current table and takes backup. So Won't we lose the initial data from the backups post 35 days ?
4. How is the backup size per month being calculated and respective cost being calculated ?
Thanks
Hi there,
I've just upload a zip package which erased all the functions I was working on.
Is there a way to get back my functions that I had juste before importing the zip file?
Of course I did not published any versions :/ (would have been too easy)
Thanks for your help!
Please create a feature which allows to easily load a list of [database].[schema].[table] from an RDS snapshot directly into a target instance->database->schema
Also add an option for a custom prefix to be added to the original imported tables name.
(Return an error if tables already exist in target schema)
I've backed up 7 on premise VMs to AWS using AWS Backup. By all indications the 7 machine backups were completed successfully 2 days in a row. In attempting to restore a single VM from AWS back to on premise, the error is given:
*"Invalid request detected during virtual machine creation. Aborted restore job"*
A solution isn't apparent in the documentation:
https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/storage/backup-and-restore-on-premises-vmware-virtual-machines-using-aws-backup/
Can anyone offer some clues as to how to troubleshoot through this?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
My team and I are working on implementing Repos for our ETL functions (Glue, Step Functions and Lambdas). I was wondering if there was a way to push changes to step Functions to a Repo? I know I can copy and paste code out the Edit window, but that feels pretty manual. I was hoping for a less manual way of having Version Control over Step Functions changes, as our step Functions are pretty extensive and would be better off editing in the console and then pushing the update with the click of a few buttons.
Thanks!
Hello, I see that some other people is having the same issue, but I didnt find a solution for my case.
I have configured a MYSQL RDS DB with free tier configurations in order to test this infraestructure for a system that I am bulding.
When I first created the DB, automatically a backup policy was generated for 7 days of retention. I believe this caused my initial issue, so I changed that configuration to 0 days. So now I dont have any backup policy.
I changed this like 2 weeks ago and I still see that my spending is increasing day after day, gp2 storage is increasing with no reason.
Amazon Relational Database Service Provisioned Storage
$0.81
$0.00 per GB-month of provisioned GP2 storage under monthly free tier running MySQL
20.000 GB-Mo
$0.00
$0.219 per GB-month of provisioned gp2 storage running MySQL
3.678 GB-Mo
$0.81
I have lost a lot of time trying to understand what is causing this
Maybe is not a lot of money right now, but this hiding costs are telling me not to use RDS.
Hope someone can tell me what is going on.
All data in RDS on my account has been deleted, how can I recover it?
Hi,
When I open my account today I saw that Amazon deleted my ec2 instance but everything else like my security groups, elastic ip addresses and keys etc, all of the configurations were there. When I ask my lost ec2 instance to online support, the explanation by the support team was "resources can be deleted by amazon during suspension period".
My 1 month age account was put on hold since 9 September 2022 because of wrong address information. I was asked for documents related to account owner, and payment method so I provided all. The verification process took 7 days and I could verify myself at the and and I got my account reactivated today.
Well, I'm not aiming to blame anyone but I just want my instance back. I know somewhere underground there must be backup images of the whole systems that's normally inaccessible visually but only some allowed tech specialists may access. Is there anyone authorized to do this or to assist me on finding the correct person in charge?
Thanks in advance.
Below is the AWS CLI that needs to be converted to PowerShell
$export_AWS = aws configservice select-aggregate-resource-config --expression "SELECT accountId,awsRegion,arn,resourceId WHERE resourceType = 'AWS::EC2::Instance'" --configuration-aggregator-name XXXXXXXXX
I already created an Option Group in RDS and am trying to add Option.
But when I try that with the new IAM role, I can't select the S3 bucket from the list.
The S3 list is not populating in the drop-down.
The data list (S3 bucket list) from API is coming as I checked with the browser console.
**Note: I did the same day before as a test without such an issue and deleted the created IAM role.
And I have Admin access to the account.**

Hello,
I would like to backup my instances and s3 buckets completely. I attached the needed permision for AWSBackupDefaultServiceRole role. Still there is a problem and i can not figure it out. Any guess?
