How to limit Workdocs access for only AWS Workspace
Thanks for any help, I know we can limit workdocs access by IP, but currently even if I'm accessing it from my AWS Workspace machine, the IP used to access workdocs is a public IP, and although the IP for each of the AWS workspace machines seems to not change, there seems to be no logic, so every time I create a new workspace I need to wait for the user to login to get their public IP to add to the allow list of my workdocs domain. Is there a way to wither make all workspace machines use public IPs from the same pool or to make them access my workdocs using their private IP so I can allow all their private IPs and be done with this instead of configure on a per machine basis? thanks for any help on this.
WorkDocs shows "Authentication Failed"
Hi team, I am a twitch employee and I have received a WorkDocs link in my Amazon email inbox to help our Amazon coworkers with their work. I am confused about what username and password to use. I tried my twitch emails (firstname.lastname@example.org & email@example.com), Amazon email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and all my passwords. But I still cannot open the WordDocs link. If I need to use email@example.com to open this link, is it possible to reset my account password? Thank you!
Workdocs Install Fails in New Workspace
I am experimenting with Workspaces and WorkDocs. I have a standard workspace installed. When I click on the icon to install Workdocs, the installer appears to run for a few seconds and the install window goes away. There are no error messages. Workdocs is not installed. When I look in the Event log, I see that the MSI installer failed with error 1603. I understand that this may mean that I don't have permissions to install apps, however I am running as administrator and am able to install other apps. I am running the Workspace in a public subnet with AWS Simple Directory. I have IP restricted to my home IP. The workspace is a standard config with 4Gb. Suggestions on how I can proceed?
Downloads Files From Workdocs
Hello everyone, I have an issue with Workdocs. I want to migrate to another storage platform, in workdocs I have 280GB on files, when try to download all the files via Drive app I just see 130Gb always, and I try to download via web portal and is the same, I hope that anyone can help me.
Where can I see custom metadata or tags in WorkDocs?
While researching how to organize our transactional documents using WorkDocs, I saw this article stating that we can use the SDK to tag documents and folders and also that we can add custom metadata: https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2017/06/amazon-workdocs-administrative-sdk-adds-apis-to-access-and-update-metadata-tags-and-comments/ However, I don't see any of this information inside the WorkDocs web app itself and I don't see any options to turn it on. Suppose I used the SDK to tag two documents with 'Customer: Acme Corp' - how would I be able to search for them in WorkDocs?
Is WorkDocs a good fit for transactional/customer-based organization of documents
I work for a logistics company that has thousands of customers and thousands of transactions every day. Every customer and every transaction has important documents associated with it, and these are frequently passed around over email and difficult to locate. We are migrating our operational applications to AWS and wanted to know if integrating with the WorkDocs API would enable easy access to documents, searching by customer, transaction ID or other operational property. Has anyone dealt with a similar use case and can you share your experience/recommendations?
What is the purpose of Workdocs Companion?
The question may sound snide and I really don't mean it that way. I'm on macOS 12.1. I have Workspaces and Workdocs as apps and Workdocs Companion showing in my menu bar. I had assumed Companion would be like a virtual file system to and from my native disk or a specific folder on my disk but so far, Workdocs and Workspaces are not making it easy for me to transfer files back and forth. What works for me is to use the web based Workdocs to upload Folders and then I can use them from Workspaces. But I did that before discovering Workdocs Companion. I've yet to try to download anything ... cross that bridge when I get to it. I'm pretty convinced I'm missing something rather obvious so I came here to ask. I've looked at the Workdocs user documentation and as far as Companion, it essentially just says "install it and it will work in the background". My Workspaces is a Windows 10. I'm clueless about Windows 10. It may be that I need to search for a new drive letter or something that Companion is providing to Workspaces.
Workdocs - Space in Drive C - Windows
Hello. We installed the workdocs app for windows and we noticed that although each Workdocs user has 1 TB of space, on PCs where there is not so much space available on the C drive, the virtual disk created by the Workdocs app only allows use to the limit of free space available on disk "C:" . For example, the disk "C:" has 5 Gb available space, so what we noticed is that although the Workdocs user has 1 Tb, he cannot, for example, transfer 200 Gb that are on a USB Drive to Workdocs, because the virtual drive created by workdocs has an identical limit to the space available on Drive "C:", which in the example is 5 Gb. How can one get around this issue? Is there any way?
WorkDocs Windows 11 App Login Not Working
A new user has no problem connecting to our WorkDocs site through a web browser, but under the app for Windows 11, it doesn't recognize his exact same credentials. The "forgot password" link does nothing; it never emails. I can't find anywhere in the WorkDocs Admin site that allows me to reset a password (or even delete a user). I'm not sure what else we can do. Has anybody experienced this issue before?
WorkDocs Drive Fails on Intel Mac OSX Monterey after a short period of running
I have a Mac mini, Intel i5, 32GB, 256GB SSD, 2018. I was using WorkDocs Drive under Big Sur without any issues. Just upgraded to Monterey, Mac OSX Version 12.0.1, and after the final reboot, I see many macFUSE errors generated by WorkDocs Drive. Uninstalled WorkDocs Drive and also deleted all references to macFUSE from the various locations on my Mac boot drive, rebooted. Reinstalled WorkDocs Drive fresh using the latest WorkDocs download mac client from Amazon (from here: https://amazonworkdocs.com/en/clients ). The WorkDocs drive appears to work fine for about 30 mins or so, and then I get macFUSE errors (about 6 popup windows), and WorkDocs shuts down and stops working, and I cannot restart WorkDocs Drive without reinstalling it. Once I reinstall the WorkDocs Drive, the same issue returns: WorkDocs Drive works for about 30 mins, then fails with the same macFUSE errors (synch related?). Your help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.WorkDocs Drive Fails on Mac OSX Monterey after a short period of running
