Hello, We are using a number of services which are accessing data from AWS S3 via IAM Roles and Credentials. We are looking to get a breakdown of the costs by each IAM role for the data transfer. Is there a way to get a breakdown of costs by the IAM role? Alternatively, what would be the best way to find the API calls that are billed by AWS for data transfer. Thanks,

5 days into this billing cycle, and my Route 53 zone has received over 33 million requests for a particular host that I recently deleted. And the associated DNS record was deleted too. I didn't think I would get billed for a deleted host record, but indeed I am according to the billing dashboard. Some initial query logging suggests that there are clients making many redundant requests for this deleted hostname. I will most likely add back a record that resolves to 127.0.0.1 with a multi-day TTL. That might make whatever code that's repeating the request to stop asking (as much). But excessive and redundant DNS queries has always been a costly problem that I never could get a handle on. I've dealt with the DDOS attacks on the host service for years, but I've never understood how to firewall Route 53 when these clients make redundant requests. The ideal solution would be that Route 53 would simply ignore requests for the deleted host name (and not bill me for it). What are my options?

Hi AWS, There is an AWS account which is the master account which has the consolidated billing for all the accounts within AWS organizations and the result of the billing is getting stored in CSV format in the S3 bucket provided. However when I am trying to generate the report for a member AWS account in the S3 bucket in the CSV format it is giving me this warning cum error **linked account preferences are managed at the payer account level**. I was referring to this AWS documentation link https://docs.aws.amazon.com/managedservices/latest/onboardingguide/set-up-consolidated-billing.html however I am looking for a better way if there is any like writing a S3 lifecycle management rule to sync the report from a dedicated folder from source account S3 bucket (Master account) to the child account S3 bucket (Member account). Can you please help me out with this?

Every month we pay $400 - $500 for various AWS services. Today, however, my "Current month's total forecast" said USD 3,039.95. This was quite scary to see, however when I go to the cost explorer it tells me that my "Forecasted month-end costs" are $471.68, which is normal. As of yesterday, I have created one Lambda function and one DynamoDB table and when I look into my charges this far in the month, they are completely normal and expected. I have looked at my usage this month and see nothing out of the ordinary. What is causing my forecast to be so high? Did any AWS services change their pricing or billing structure as of this month?

We are setting up EFS based computing on AWS/Batch, and a new cost category that popped up for ~50% of costs is "EUC1-ETDataAccess-Bytes". I could not find the documentation for that class. Could somebody explain, and perhaps have suggestions to it ? :-) EUC1 is the region, I'm aware of that. The EFS FS is set up as a GP system with elastic throughput. Thank you ! geert

I have a PostgreSQL RDS database in AWS which is in a free-tier period I have launched the database for free-tier but still I am getting charged for the RDS every month, which is of the type "$0.131 per GB-month of provisioned gp2 storage running PostgreSQL", why I am getting charged for this, like this charge for the inbound/outbound transfer, database backups or basically what I am exceeding above free-tier limits for which I am charged Kindly provide me a solution for how I can avoid these charges, I should change the RDS configurations, change the storage type, or any other step I can take so, that I can avoid these charges

Hello, I am being tasked to manage a AWS accounts, where ec2's are not tagged. However, now requirement is to have cost report of individual EC2 server on daily/monthly basis. I enabled cost report from billing section( CUR). However, under s3 bucket I can see there are multiple CUR zip files report are generated and I am not able to understand under which file should check the specific EC2. Need help here to get cost report for individual ec2's. either in cost explorer or through CUR. Thanks.
