Question regarding Lightsail/Plesk and snapshots
Hello, I am going through the process of upgrading one of my LightSail instances. In order to do this I created a snapshot from the original then created a new instance. However I noticed something strange, and maybe my lack of knowledge in AWS is to blame. I cannot gain access to plesk in the new instance I created from the snapshot. Plesk is asking for a username/pw yet the original did not have one set up. I only gained access to the original instance by using the following command: sudo plesk login | grep -v internal:8. I would then use the url provided and it gave me access, no need for username/pw. Yet on this new instance (which I assume should be a straight copy) is forcing a username/pw, as well as sending me to the ip address of the old instance. How do I gain access to the plesk on my new instance? Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated, as of right now I have no way of accessing plesk for the new instance.
AWS GovCloud Login Page
A couple of weeks ago, I typed in the customized URL address for the GovCloud account and was able to log in as the Administrator. This week after typing in the URL, I am only allowed to log in as![Enter image description here](/media/postImages/original/IMXTygDhEvRpqKpl6hIRyCGA) the IAM user. Why?
Is it possible to map the group as an attribute?
Hi, I am using AWS IAM as IDP from Root account with AWS SSO (not AD or external), so I have AWS SSO and a SAML application for Jenkins configured on the root account. I have configured the SAML Jenkins app with the following attributes: ![Enter image description here](/media/postImages/original/IMAT8AyKcITPm2Ug8org3pgg) And i need propagate to Jenkins the groups to which that user belongs in the AWS SSO, to assign permissions in Jenkins according to the groups that the user has. Is it possible? Regards!
New AWS accounts are limited to provisioning only 5 AWS Chime phone numbers?
We're in the process of migrating to a new AWS account and we found out that we're limited to provisioning only 5 AWS Chime phone numbers. Contrary to other similar cases, we didn't get a "Your service has been restricted" error message but rather "Service received a bad request" after successfully provisioning the 5 phone numbers. Looks like AWS has tweaked the error message to make it more vague? We did try to delete some numbers, and was able to provision more numbers but we're still limited to just 5 phone numbers in our inventory. The service quota was like 25 and yet, we're limited to just 5. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me if you want to know how I feel about it. I'm not quite sure what to think but would love some answers. Thank you!
Sign in into re:Post from a CLI assumed session
Would be great if re:Post team could provide docs for how to sign in from CLI into re:Post with an automatic redirect. I'm using `aws-vault` which can assume a role, and create a valid session. And I know the pre-signed AWS console URLs have the redirect capability. So I think this should be possible? I just want to execute: ```sh aws-vault login repost ``` And be taken to this site, with a logged-in session.
Linking AWS Certifications with AWS IQ
Hi team, I recently had awareness of the AWS IQ platform, and I was compelled to sign-up for it on behalf of my firm. I have a quick concern while signing up for AWS IQ as a consulting firm: how do you integrate the certifications - currently, the firm has 71 certifications over the AWS Partner Central. Steps that I took: 1. I added the personal information and selected the Role of Project Manager - Done 2. "Link your AWS Certifications Account" - Pending I want to integrate those 71 certifications instead of personal certifications with the AWS IQ profile as I am not signing up as an individual expert but rather as a project manager who wants to deliver services on behalf of the firm. Please assist in this regard. Best,
Service Quota | AMI Subscription - Failed to Create Instance
Hi, I had requested a quota increase vCPU for the region AP-South-1 (Mumbai) for launching an instance of the Nvidia Gaming Server 2019 image (requires g4d.xxx series). The request had been approved and the vCPU count on the quota's page is reflecting the ask. However, when I try launching an instance of the same, I'm getting an error stating that "I've requested more vCPU than my current limit". I did post the same to the support guys, but no help from their end, and are asking me to purchase a premium support plan, which is ridiculous in its very nature, 29$ for such a trivial thing, makes no sense. If I'm not mistaken, this can only be resolved by the support team as it involves something to do with the AWS account. However, if you've faced such a problem before, I could really use your help on the same. Thanks, Maddy
Quicksight invitations failing with Missing Attributes error
For the past week or so, I have been able to send out invitations to new Quicksight users. However, when those new users click on the "accept invitation" link in the invitation email, they are given a blank page that states "Missing Attributes: This page requires several GET attributes and/or cookies to be set." This error occurs on several machines, on both Chrome and Edge and with or without incognito mode.
Not receiving SSO invite emails
I am attempting to set up SSO with my Gsuite and AWS. I have followed the following blog to do so: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/security/how-to-use-g-suite-as-external-identity-provider-aws-sso/ After I configured my user, I received an invitation email from AWS on my Gmail. I clicked it to accept the invite. I later discovered that I misconfigured the SSO endpoint, and deleted it along with all my users. I have since created a new SSO endpoint, and invited myself using my Gmail, but am not receiving another invite email from SSO. Do I have to wait some time before trying again? I have verified there is nothing in my spam or trash folders. I'm worried that my email is now attached to an SSO endpoint that no longer exists. The email is Panoply@merstab.com . Thank you for any help you can give. ![Enter image description here](https://repost.aws/media/postImages/original/IMGqYKNS6yQpqqgEwIkG4zHg)
pam_open_session: Error in service module
I needed to edit /etc/security/limits.conf to add the line "tomcat hard nofile 7168" so was planning on keeping the original and editing a copy: $ sudo mv /etc/security/limits.conf /etc/security/limits.conf.20220708 $ sudo cp /etc/security/limits.conf.2* /etc/security/limits.conf sudo: pam_open_session: Error in service module sudo: policy plugin failed session initialization $ I cannot su to root (no passwords) and on opening a connection from the AWS console (https://eu-west-3.console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/v2/connect/root/i-091336859aa81c170) I see the connection happening but it then hangs without a prompt nor accepting input. Please advise!
