We have a db.m5.large RDS instance for which we have a reserved instance that is going to expire after 4 months. We upgraded our instance to db.m5.xlarge recently due to high CPU usage. Currently, our new instance is running on On-demand pricing, while our reserved instance is getting wasted. Is my understanding correct? Can we upgrade our reserved instance to this level also?

I have an "m1.small" 3-year reserved instances which will be expired on July 31, 2023. The EC2-classic will be retired after Aug. 2022, so I have to migrate my EC2 classic instance to VPC by the deadline. Unfortunately, It looks like the "m1.small" instance type is no more available in the VPC. If I'd like to migrate my EC2 instance to "t3.small", how do I modify my "m1.small" reserved instances to "t3.small"? PS: I tried to modify the reserved instances, but no "t3.small" option in the available list.

I created a new AWS account in my AWS Organization. When I try to create a reserved instance in the account I get the following error: "Error: Your current quota does not allow you to purchase the required number of reserved instances (Status Code: 400; Error Code: ReservedInstancesLimitExceeded; Request ID: 52e35efd-89aa-44ef-9794-026b1176d21b)" Reserved instance details: * Region = us-east-2 * Instance type = g4dn.2xlarge * Offering = standard * Quantity = 1 * Payment terms = All Upfront It's a new account so I do not have any existing instances in the account in any region. When I go to limits, it shows that my "Reserved Instances" limit is 20. I clearly have the limit available for reserved instances, so why am I getting this error?

Hi Guys, does anyone know if it's possible to share RI/SavingPlans between different AWS Organizations? (someone told me that it's possible but I can't get documentation on that) - I am pretty sure that is not possible but I want to be sure. Thanks in advance! :)

I'm having a hard time figuring out if reserved instance costs appear in Cost Explorer in the account they were purchased or in the account where they were applied. For example I have an Management Account and two sub accounts B and C. If the reservations I bought in the Management Account are applied to EC2 instances in account B are they billed to the Management Account or B when I break out costs by linked accounts? Put another way. Do reserved instances get applied to the Management Account as a lump sum at the beginning of the month or are they reflected as EC2 costs (billed at a lower rate) accrued inside of the linked account? When I look at my cost explorer by linked account do I see all the costs generated in that account including the reserved instances that were consumed by the account or are reserved instances billed in the account they were purchased in?

hello everyone, if i bough a regional reserved instance (which gives no capacity reservation in any availability zones within the region) and i created a reservation over a specific AZ match the same attributes of the regional reserved instance and then created the instance in that AZ that match both regional reservation and AZ capacity reservation attributes , do i get charged on demand (no discount) because of unused reservation in the AZ if the regional reserved instance is stopped ?

Are there any plans to permit the reservation of t4g-class instance types on RDS? Currently, t4g is omitted from the reservation pricing page, at least for MySQL in us-east-1: https://aws.amazon.com/rds/mysql/pricing/?pg=pr&loc=2 Both the AWS web console and direct usage of the API show no offerings for db.t4g: ``` $ aws --output=json rds describe-reserved-db-instances-offerings --db-instance-class=db.t4g.medium { "ReservedDBInstancesOfferings": [] } ```

A customer with 10 RDS (Aurora MySQL) instances (T2.small, R4.large). If they buy T3 reserved instances (RI): - can they use these credits for any T type instance from any size? ex, to a T2.small (or later) if you initiate a new generation under the same T family (e.g. T4) - could they use half of these RI for T3.large? - is there a mapping table? ex. "T3.large equals 2+ T2.small". - are RI interchangeable with different types? ex. buying a T3.small RI counts for a R4.large Thanks
