Hey! I'm pretty new to AWS and Linux, and I'm trying to learn, so please bear with me as I know this probably is a noob question. I'm trying to SSH into my Linux EC2 instance on my Windows pc using cmd, and this is the error I get: Load key "linuxmc.pem": Permission denied ec2_user@ec2-3-110-105-158.ap-south-1.compute.amazonaws.com: Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic). Any ideas on how I could fix this? Sorry again if it's a dumb question, but I wasn't able to find the solution after a lot of googling. Thanks.

Hello, Having an issue where WorkDocs will NOT start up under a certain user's Windows profile. This is a AWS Workspace Windows server 2019 desktop. I created a new profile on the same Workspace and WorkDocs works perfectly fine. I deleted AppData\Roaming\Amazon folder which promps for user settings to be entered, but once I click login the system tray icon opens and closes immediately and will not connect or show the program. Wondering if there are any recommended steps to resolve this issue other than recreating a new Windows Profile. I also tried resetting theMessage Queuing service already. Thanks in advance. DGVTECH

Hello, Today I attempted an instance type change on a Windows machine from m5.4xlarge to c6a.4xlarge resulting in Instance reachability check failed. I've tried rebooting, stopping, and starting the instance, but the outcome was the same: no connectivity. Are there any networking differences between the 2 instance types that would require driver installation? I'm asking about the network, as the instance screenshot displayed no connectivity on the network adapter and the remote desktop connection was not working either.

We are unable to access ec2 windows machine via RDP. We tried with generating and decrypting password with the ssh-key for the machine. But still not working. I have opened two tickets for the same issue. I am expecting a quick response from AWS support. Severity should be high, but it is setting with general inquire. Where I choose System impaired.

Hi, I am trying to set up an image for WorkSpaces, and I am setting up WSL1 with Ubuntu. The problem I am having is WSL is installing the package is in the D:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\ folder, and on image creation this is not captured due to it on the D drive and not on the C drive. While if I could use WSL2 I could export and move the install but I can't do that on WS, so the only other option I can see is to somehow stop the use of D drive and only use C drive to force the install there. The other annoying part is set bookmarks I have for firefox are not being captured in the image as well, but that is less of a problem. Ideally, I would just like to use C drive, or on image capture, it captures the exact state the computer is in vs splitting it between drives (if even possible?) Looking for any ideas on how I can best do this without making users jump through hoops installing and re-setting up WSL Ubunutu with all the apps. Thanks

Hello, We are attempting to set up a dev instance of a client's ERP which runs on Windows Server 2019. To complete our integrations, we need to enable SSL on the server so that we can make HTTPS API requests. The target domain is a subdomain of a domain registered and maintained at name.com; transferring the domain to be managed by Amazon is not possible. Documentation and knowledgebase requests I've seen do not clarify whether the SSL certification should be done in the Lightsail console or in the Windows server that is running, nor is it terribly useful for cases where the domain is managed elsewhere. The ERP has already been set up and can be accessed via HTTP, everything necessary has been installed on the server, this is the last step. Thank you for your time. Let me know if there would be additional helpful information.

One of our EC2 windows (Windows 2022 Data Center Edition) instance randomly stops without any manual interference. It's a **c6a.8xlarge** instance type running at **Mumbai location**. The server is used for RDP purpose. Whenever users complain they are kicked out of their sessions, we mostly see that it is in "Stopped" mode in the dashboard. This is really impacting our production. How do we resolve this issue?

Connection to my windows instance locate at Frankfurt, Zone A (eu-central-1a) is extremely slow recently. I tried, RDC and ping from using different ISP and also VPN but no luck. My internet connection is good, but RDC connection is either not established or freezes after a brief connection. My hosted website has also become also very slow. What could be the reason? I'm using, 512 MB RAM, 1 vCPU, 30 GB SSD Windows Server 2019 Frankfurt, Zone A (eu-central-1a)

Hi there, Here is my setup: - Workspace (Windows Server 2016) running mode set to **Always On** - **Keep me logged** in check box selected - WorkDocs Drive installed in the Workspace, set to automatically log in - When I log into the Workspace, Workdocs drive mounts correctly on W: as expected The problem: - When I log out of the Workspace or if I close the Workspace window, the Workdocs drive on W: unmounts itself - I know because I have file backup software that backs up files to an external host. The software fails with a "path not found" error when it runs while I'm not logged in. But it runs successfully when I am logged in. No other changes. - I'm not looking to be convinced to back up to S3, I have y reasons for backing up using a 3rd party back up tool - I just want to answer the question "how can I keep the workdocs drive mounted to my windows 2016 Workspace, even when I'm no logged into the Workspace" Thanks

I have deployed a custom component on a windows machine. This component just runs a jar file on windows box. Deployment shows completed. I am trying to find a way now to stop that running java application. Is there any way to rollback a completed deployment in Greengrass. My another use case would be to install an exe file on windows machine using Greengrass component. How do I uninstall that application using Greengrass.

When I launch a new instance from an AMI (this AMI opens steamVR after logon), steamVR runs into an error. From what I have been reading it is because when an instance is launched based on an AMI, the EBS volume attached to the ec2 instance needs to get all the data from the snapshot that the AMI is based off of. i/o operations are slow for the first read and therefore when SteamVR is launched on login, it runs into a critical error. more details are here: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/failed-watchdog-timeout-in-thread-server-main-in-cloudxrremotehmd-after-10-440015-seconds-aborting/180742/10 In this post, the final reply is the following: "We did figure out a workaround last week. It turns out this issue is related specifically to AWS machines with EBS. When you start an EBS-backed machine in AWS, the EBS volume needs to be hydrated from the snapshot that it is based on. The snapshot data is backed by S3, and therefore is very slow for the first read of data from the volume. We are now using a little PowerShell script to basically cat {files} > /dev/null for all the files in the CloudXR and SteamVR directories before we start SteamVR. This hydrates those files into the volume so that they are fast, and we haven’t had issues crashing since then. More information on this is here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/ebs-initialize.html#ebs-initialize-windows. Hope this helps." How do I initialize the ebs volume for only the files in the steamvr and cloudxr directories? If I did use fio/dd to initialize the entire volume (200gb), how long would that take? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
