What is the relevant API to collect costs associated with AWS services in the context of carbon footprints?
What is the relevant API to collect costs associated with AWS services in the context of carbon footprints? How do I identify the endpoint? For example: I have services running in my sanbox that I would like to know how much they are costing me and which API and which APIs allow me to retrieve this information? Is it possible to list the APIs that allow me to collect financial and ecological data from AWS? For each API is it possible to describe the information collected? Thanks for your help.
Can I restore specific data from S3 if it was deleted after non-authorized usage (versioning not active)?
Hello. First of all, this is my first time in this forum and I'm not an expert user. During november 2021 someone hacked my account and the billings rised up from USD$1,5 (I usually payed that) to USD$32.000 in just 1 month. I was forced to block my payment methods. The thing is I talked to a lot of people asking for support and finally (because there was no valid payment method) Amazon had to close my account and deleted almost everything I had in there. I need to restore some specific data, but I don't know if Amazon has something like a "backup of the backup". Is there a last chance to recover what I've lost?? Thanks in advance. Regards!
Billing Alarm on SPAM Account
Hello, I have created a Billing Alarm that keeps reflecting Insufficient Data, even though I have followed all Amazon web services instructions. I am trying to close a SPAM account wrongly created with my stoles email address and credit card data and Technical team keeps confirming I must secure the account before passing my case to billing team and matter is resolved and I can proceed to close the account. Only pending step to secure the account is to create a Billing Alarm which reflects status as OK instead as Insufficient Data. Please confirm how can I fix the Billing Alarm to reflect OK. Thanks, Angela
Account Hacked and now I can't get AWS Billing to remove the costs from account so I can close it for good.
I opened a free tier account with Amazon to learn about AWS for a job I was working for, I never used it at all after it was opened and never touched again since when I left my job I no longer need to learn AWS. Fast forward to March of 2022 which I got and email from AWS that my personal account might have been compromised and to please contact support through the control panel. I went through all the directions of the support personnel ONLINE thru WEBCHAT ONLY, they directed me to enter my credit card just so the account was fully active and they would only charge $1 to make sure the card works. I entered the card and proceeded to follow directions how to remove all of the information that the HACKERS had left behind and what was causing all of the billing for my account that was compromised of $18,XXX.XX. Then in April my AMEX card was automatically billed $2,4XX.XX and the support person said of sorry it was automatically billed (I argued that you lied and told me there would only be $1 charged but they had no answer for me now I called AMEX and placed a dispute on that bill!). So finally I clean up all of the hackers remains and they stated that sales/security has to review the request that these were fraudulent charges, I stated of course they were, you alerted me that someone compromised my account! Now they want me to send them $18,XXX.XX and they stated it will be credited back to me either if I used my credit card or WIRE TRANSFER. They would credit my account and send the money back?????? I said no I don't have those funds and I didn't create those bills, now they come back and state they made a decision and it stands I owe the money! Do I need a lawyer for this? I also believe this 1st email may not be real from AWS since they don't provide phone numbers ever! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Amazon Web Services, Inc. AWS Billing Report files are improperly formatted (contains columns with no headers)
We are trying to ingest AWS billing data from the billing reports generated in S3 by AWS into our Snowflake datawarehouse. We are using a data extraction tool (Fivetran) to get this task done. The tool is working perfectly for every billing report except one file where we have additional columns with no data and no headers (just additional commas in csv file). Can AWS provide csv files which are properly formatted? it would save us some development time/effort to write code to parse the manifest file.
when is invoice emailed for an account
I recently asked when are storage charges made to a credit card. I received an answer, but a follow up question of when is an invoice for the bill emailed was not answered. Since the bill is finalized on the first of the month, I assume the invoice is emailed soon after, but would appreciate a definitive answer. Thanks.
AWS account hacked
Amazon authorized an email change for my account without my consent. They want to charge me an invoice of $ 7,884 to my credit card that I had to cancel because they had stolen my data from amazon. The only response I get from AWS is that I do a series of steps that I don't have the knowledge to do. I am completely helpless. Does anyone know where I can report the case?
AWS Compute Savings Plan
Hi Team, Our customer has purchased $4 compute savings plan. When observed the savings plan coverage, it shows applied 67% for one instance type, 80% for another instance type, 79% for 3rd instance type. My understanding were, it should first cover 100% for one instance type (with max % savings) and then apply for other. But the above observation is confusion. Please someone clarify the doubt. Regards, Nikhil Shah
Time between emailed invoice and credit card charge
I am seeking information on the financial arrangements associated with an account. I represent a church that wishes to backup their web sites to AWS. However, the financial people have a requirement that they must be able to view an invoice before the monthly charge for the storage service is debited from the credit card. So, my question is: How much time is given between the time an invoice is sent out and the time the credit card is changed for the monthly storage cost?
how to gather resource information from an account
hi Guys, I just started at new company and they have multiple aws accounts and I'm still learning AWS. I am trying to create an asset tracking file. I like to know what each accounts has in terms of # of things such as ec2/s3/vpc/subnets/domains/hosted zones/db etc...etc... I do see that VPC dashboard does show many of the resources but not all. So is something like what I am asking possible? Thanks in advance
