AWS Transit Gateway Peering Daisy Chain

0

Can a AWS Transit Gateway peering be daisy chain in the AWS Gov Cloud? If you have multiple TGWs in the same region, ie. TGW-A peer with TWG-B but TWG-B is also peer with TGW-C, TGW-D and TGW-E where TGW-C, TGW-D, TGW-E is attach to a VPC. Is this a good design or Is there an alternative design?

Hello,

TransitGateway supports Inter as well as Intra-region Peering.

See below blog for more information on this topic:

https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/networking-and-content-delivery/aws-transit-gateway-now-supports-intra-region-peering/

As for Peering you can do fully mesh of TGW peering as shown in the Whitepaper below:

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/latest/hybrid-connectivity/aws-dx-dxgw-with-aws-transit-gateway-multi-regions-more-than-3.html

Typically 1 TGW per region is used but yes, technically you can have multiple TGWs within 1 region and can do Intra-region peering between them.
