How can we retrieve the free trial information for any subscription by the customer through AWS Marketplace.

We are trying to integrate our SaaS product on AWS Marketplace. It is a contract plan. We want to get the information whether the subscription purchased is free trial and provide a free trial instance to our customer. How do AWS MP notify us whether the subscribed plan is a free trial plan. Does the GetEntitlements API contains any free trial info for the subscribed product? Please help.

Hi,

Thank you for your response and I highly appreciate your patience here.

The error "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. Please check if you have an active public listing and still have access to the AWS Marketplace Management Portal." refers to your Marketplace console access.

Can you please confirm you have the appropriate IAM Permissions listed below: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/marketplace/latest/buyerguide/buyer-iam-users-groups-policies.html

In addition to this, you will also need to reach out directly to our Seller Operations Team where you can provide them with the Offer ID and they will also be able to dive deep into the permissions further with regards to your IAM credentials and your existing offer. https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/management/contact-us

Again, I highly appreciate your patience.

Hi,

Thank you for your rePost question. My name is Ahmed - an AWS Support Engineer who will be addressing your inquiry today.

I understand you are in the middle of integrating your SaaS product on AWS Marketplace and would like to be notified on the trial information for the product.

Investigating this further on your behalf, you should be able to first create your free trial offer via the AWS Marketplace console: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/management/homepage

Select Create > Select Offers Tab > Select Public Free Trials > Create free trial offer > Select standard AWS Marketplace terms > Select Review Offer and when you are happy you can Select Create Offer.

From there, you should be able to view this by navigating to your product’s detail page and confirming a green Free trial badge under the product title.

You can also opt in for automated daily SaaS free trial reports sent directly to an S3 bucket however you must configure access to AWS Marketplace data feeds. Once configured, you will receive this daily at 00:00 UTC. The report includes agreement details such as – is_free_trial_offer, subscriber name and id, offer_id, and agreement start and end date. You will receive this report automatically as soon as you get free trial subscribers to your SaaS Product.

This is all covered including step by step here: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/awsmarketplace/how-create-free-trial-offer-saas-contract-products-aws-marketplace/

On a side note, you can use the web form below to reach out directly to our Seller Operations Team for a much faster response time for any additional inquiries you have: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/management/contact-us

  • Hi Ahmed, Thanks for your answer. When I try to create an offer in the aws marketplace portal, Offers tab is not getting opened saying that "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. Please check if you have an active public listing and still have access to the AWS Marketplace Management Portal." My SaaS offer is published to limited already. Do I need to publish the offer publicly before configuring it as a Free Trial offer? Please respond.
