When I try to check the SMS text message
notification option for any new alarms I add to Lightsail, it gives me a pop error message:
Cannot add SMS number
You cannot add your SMS contact mobile number at this time because SMS text messaging is temporarily disabled. We will notify you when SMS messaging is enabled.

My contact information is correct, I'm getting SMS notifications for alarms that I had setup before this problem started (about 6 months ago), it just won't let me enable SMS notifications for new Alarms. My region is US East (N. Virginia) (us-east-1) and I have a US SMS number.
If I go to my Notifications Contact profile page and when I click on Add SMS number
it gives me the exact same error, it won't let me add a SMS and says it's unavailable. Why is my existing number working for old alarms but it won't let me add a new number or set SMS for new alarms? I even tried the CLI route and it gives me the same error.
This has been happening for over 6 months now. Does anyone know how to work around this issue with Lightsail?
