Global Issue with Missing Sentinel-2 Scenes for September 2023 in STAC API

0

Hello,

I'm encountering a global issue where Sentinel-2 scenes for September 2023 are missing when queried through the STAC API, despite being available for previous years like September 2022. This issue seems to affect all areas and is not limited to any specific polygon.

I am using the AWS STAC API at https://earth-search.aws.element84.com/v0 and querying the 'sentinel-s2-l2a-cogs' STAC collection. I'm not applying any cloud cover filters or other constraints that might limit the results.

The missing scenes for September 2023 are puzzling, especially since these scenes are visible and available on the Copernicus Data Space Browser. This discrepancy suggests that the data should be accessible and queryable through the STAC API as well.

Here are some specifics about my approach:

API Endpoint: https://earth-search.aws.element84.com/v0 Collection: sentinel-s2-l2a-cogs Date Range: September 2023 No cloud filtering or additional query constraints. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with accessing recent Sentinel-2 scenes via the STAC API? I'm looking for insights or advice on why this discrepancy exists and how to resolve it, ensuring access to the latest Sentinel-2 data.

Thank you for your assistance!

Nathan
