Lambda: file descriptor limits - does it include network connections?

A customer has asked the following:
Does max file descriptors of 1024 for lambdas also include open network connections?
I believe the question could also be expended to:
Are there any limitations on the number of open network connections?
Any help appreciated!

Yes, each network connection will consume a file descriptor and count towards that limit. There's no specific limit on open network connections aside from the 1,024 file descriptor limit.
