Workmail Groups Won't Redirect to Outside Email Account

0

The majority of our employees forward their work email to a personal email address. We have one group set up on the console for all the employees so that we can send company wide messages. We just switched over to AWS workmail, and everyone has the forwarding set up where If when the message "has my name is in the to or cc box", then "redirect to personal@gmail.com". I sent an email yesterday, and it ended up in everyone's Workmail box instead of the personal gmail box. I've been testing this all morning with variations on the rules "is sent to" and "is received from", but nothing works. The email won't make it to the personal box if sent to an email group. Any suggestions?

HI,

I tested a rule with the condition "Is sent to" and selected the group from the address book. Email sent to this group are correctly redirected in my tests. Do note that redirects will not always succeed if the original sender has a SFP record. When the sender SPF record that does not allow WorkMail to send the message WorkMail will not redirect the message as the recipient will think the redirected message is spam as it comes from a unauthorized source. In that case a forward rule will work.

Hi Robin,

Thank you for your assistance. When I changed the name for the condition "is sent to" from the person's name to the name of the group, this issue was resolved. I wish there was a condition that would just forward everything that arrives in their inbox to their personal email.

Thanks!

Katie

Hi Katie,

You can create a rule without any conditions which will apply to all incoming mail. Currently this is only possible via Windows Outlook.

Kind regards, Robin
