Is It Feasible to Use Firebase for Authentication in an AWS-Based App?

0

Hello AWS Community,

I am currently in the process of designing a mobile application where ease of use and extensive UI customization are key priorities. Given these requirements, I am considering using Firebase for user authentication, as it offers a user-friendly interface and flexible UI options. Additionally, I am planning to utilize other Firebase services in my app.

However, the majority of my app's backend, including serverless functions, will be hosted on AWS (primarily using AWS Lambda). Before I proceed, I would appreciate your insights on a few points:

  1. Integration Feasibility: How well does Firebase Authentication integrate with AWS services, particularly AWS Lambda? Are there any known challenges or limitations in this setup?

  2. Best Practices: If you have experience with or know of any best practices for implementing Firebase Authentication within an AWS architecture, could you please share them?

  3. Security Considerations: Are there any security concerns or additional measures that I should be aware of when integrating Firebase Authentication with AWS services?

  4. Performance Impact: Does using Firebase for authentication have any significant impact on the performance or scalability when the backend is primarily AWS-based?

  5. Real-world Examples: If you know of any examples or case studies where Firebase Authentication has been successfully implemented with an AWS backend, it would be great to learn from those experiences.

Any advice, insights, or experiences you can share would be incredibly helpful as I navigate this aspect of my app's development.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!
