AWS S3 Backup doesn't charge PUT requests for backups?
Hi. I have a question about cost estimation of AWS S3 backup, previously, I have consider for backup we need to consider PUT requests cost. but there is an example in AWS doc that consider PUT only for restore and GET(8 per object) and List(every 500 object 1 list) for backup. is it right? we won't be charged for PUT during backup? AWS Backup for Amazon S3 does not charge PUT requests for writes into backup storage.
Hi,
Put requests are essentially used for uploading data to a S3 bucket, hence when we restore objects to a bucket you incur charges for Put requests. Get/List requests are used for accessing the data. Hence, when we perform backup you will incur charges for Get/List requests in addition to backup storage and EventBridge charges but not for Put requests.
