Best Practice to Backup an EC2 Instance

Question

I setup a backup job to nightly backup my data.  I wasn't sure what I should do, so I selected backing up my 3 Instances and I also included backing up all my EBS storage devices which are connected to those Instances.

Should I backup on the 3 Instances, which will backup all the data from those drives and also backup the EBS storage devices, or just the storage devices and not the Instances?

I wasn't sure if the Instance backs up all the data and multiple drives attached?

If you take a backup of instance /AMI, it will include backup of EBS volumes too, but not viceversa.

Hi.By using AWS Backup you can get entire backup including all EBS volumes  attached to instance.
