A bit of background info
We are running a PBX in Lightsail and we need to upgrade all of the instances. We did a test with a non-production system to find the process.
What we did:
Take a snapshot of the original instance
Turned off the original instance
Used the snapshot to create a new instance with increased specs.
Updated the network config to match the old instance
Moved the static IP from the old to the new.
Rebooted the instance
It has now been about 12 hours since we did all that and the instance IP has not been updated in DNS. A lookup shows some other IP
If I force the correct IP (via hosts file) I can access the service and everything works
The question is, is there a way to force a DNS update to push the correct IP?
Or did I miss a step or something I should have done differently?
