Lost phpmyadmin credentials

0

Hi there. The people who should have the credentials to access phpmyadmin for my site appears to have 'misplaced' them. I'm not a tech person, but need to get access to that database information. Is there a way I can have it reset, or how I might be able to find out the current credentials? Thanks very much for any help. Dave

Hi Dave,

You should have access to your phpmyadmin file - config.inc.php. You may find its location using find / -iname "config.inc.php" 2>/dev/null but it should be at /usr/share/phpmyadmin/, /etc/apache2/conf.d/ or /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/. I can't remember which one exactly right now.

In this file you should have your credentials cat config.inc.php | egrep '(user|password)'.

Let me know if this helps you.

Best regards, Gabriel Bartholomeu

  • Thanks very much, Gabriel. Really appreciate it. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I've passed it on to my people who should know what to do with it.
