AWS Lex V2 - How to have bot respond in thread

In the "Integrating with Slack" Lex V2 configuration steps documentation, there is no mention about how you can configure the bot to respond to Slack messages using the parent message in a thread. The intent is to invite the bot to an existing channel, and if a user @ mentions them the bot would respond in a thread to the user's question in the channel.

Is this possible? If so, what steps are necessary.

That is not yet possible at the moment with slack-lex integration
