If you are trying to trigger an action, like a notification, you can use EventBridge. See: Configuring EventBridge for Systems Manager events.

Hi Alberto,
Haven’t tried this directly but I would say you coul use cloudtrail https://docs.aws.amazon.com/systems-manager/latest/userguide/monitoring-cloudtrail-logs.html
And then creating an alarm from it
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awscloudtrail/latest/userguide/cloudwatch-alarms-for-cloudtrail.html

No, my trigger is executed by Run Command and Automation of AWS Systems Manager
You can write an EventBridge rule that looks for Failed SSM Automation events. Then pick a target like you would do with an alarm.
