Cannot find asset with NodejsFunction created asset

We are doing most of our deployment using CDK and we now are looking into utilizing cdk-stacksets for organization and OU deployments.

We are failing to deploy stacksets that have file assets to them, if the asset is created by e.g. NodejsFunction or RustFunction. I've posted an issue describing the problem and with a reference to an example CDK app for reproducing the error.

It's been three weeks since the issue was posted and it hasn't received any attention yet, hence I'm trying my luck here instead.

Any ideas what we might be doing wrong?
