Why set X-Amz-Target header for EventBridge integration?

Question

Why do I need to set the header X-Amz-Target as 'AWSEvents.PutEvents' while integrating API Gateway with EventBridge? I never had to do similar for Firehose, S3, SQS, etc..   
  
The Action is already set to PutEvents so why the target header is required again? Please clarify.

I believe you've already gotten a response via twitter, but the TL;DR is that not all AWS services behave the same. Some services do require you to explicitly map the X-Amz-Target header and others will work with the action header specified by API Gateway when configuring the integration.  
  
Feedback from your twitter thread will be taken into account as we look at adding AWS service integrations to HTTP APIs.
