Cannot create account alias

Question

I just started learning AWS and I'm following a tutorial that has us creating a Root account alias from the Management console Dashboard. Whatever name I choose (and I'm using correct characters), it always tell me that alias already exists. I have searched online and can't find any info on this. Seems like a bug.

Using Microsoft Edge, Basic (free) account.

I'd suggest you to go to https://console.aws.amazon.com/iam/ and see what is the account alias coming there. Try editing the alias from here and see how it goes.
