Yes, the steps are outlined here, Making Route 53 the DNS service for a domain that's in use. You will skip optional Step 10.

One more question, for Step 3: Create records, do I just copy over the records from my existing service provider? I see a list of records such as [Name:@, Type:A, Value:208.97 ..], [Name:ftp, Type:A, Value:208.97. ..] in my existing provider's panel.

Yes, replicate those records. Then once resolution is flipped to Route 53, you can change the record to an Alias that points to your CloudFront address.
