Is 750.0 Hrs free per month or per year in EC2 free tier micro?

0

On official site it's mentioned as : 12 MONTHS FREE 750 hours per month of Linux, RHEL, or SLES t2.micro or t3.micro instance dependent on region

But on billing section : https://us-east-1.console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home#/freetier 750.0 Hrs for free for 12 months as part of AWS Free Usage Tier (Global-BoxUsage:freetier.micro)

So is 750 hrs per month or per year?

The AWS Free Tier provides 750 hours per month of t2.micro or t3.micro instances running Linux, RHEL, or SLES. This is for a 12 month period. To clarify:

  • The 750 hours is a monthly limit that resets each month, not an annual limit.
  • The hours can be used across multiple instances, as long as the total monthly usage does not exceed 750 hours.
  • Usage is counted separately for Linux/RHEL/SLES instances versus Windows instances, so you also get 750 hours for t2.micro or t3.micro Windows instances each month.
  • Running multiple instances within the usage limits will not incur any costs during the free tier period

Hi,

750h / month comes from the fact that 31days x 24hours = 744h

Basically, this is given to allow1 EC2 instance permanently up & running so that you can run long-lasting experiments.

Best,

Didier
