Different SSL Certificates on different RDS / Aurora cluster nodes.

My customer is updating SSL Certificates on RDS instances and clusters and ended up with a mix of old and new SSL certs. on different nodes of the cluster. Does it cause any issue? Should it really matter as long as the Certs. are valid? Need some insight. Thank you!

So long as they are valid and the client they are using have the appropiate CAs to validate the autenticaty of the issued certiticates, then no. It will not make a difference,

Its only used for Encryption in transit and optionally, the SSL/TLS connection can perform server identity verification by validating the server certificate installed on the database
