Mobile App users sometimes don't get agent messages

Have you ever seen an instance where the customer has connected via chat (streams API) and they are chatting then the agent thinks they have left as they have not responded to the messages they have sent? When in fact they did not received them. As Streams API is a black box you cannot see any log information etc. So would welcome any pointers or experience people have had
