Multiple NodeGroups for On-demand and Spot

Hi community,

I intend to create separate NodeGroups for On-demand and Spot instances. My On-demand nodegroup would include 3 types: r6i.24xLarge, r7i.24xLarge, r5.24xLarge My Spot nodegroup would include types: r6i.24xLarge, r7i.24xLarge, r5.24xLarge, r6a.24xLarge, r7a.24xLarge, r6dn.24xLarge; basically there are 3 types that share with the On-demand nodegroup.

My concern is that the overlapping types will suffer from node reclaim because they would be taken out of Spot nodegroup to serve scaling of On-demand nodegroup scaling.

Is my concern valid? Must I avoid sharing instance types between On-demand and Spot? What is the best practice here?
