Company stopped services but saving plan remains

0

Hello,

We purchased a savings plan for 3 years in January 2024 but are now shutting down our services because the company stopped its activity. How can we cancel this savings plan? Otherwise, we will be charged for the next 24 months of services that we don't use for a business activity that stopped.

Hello.

Savings Plans cannot be canceled if more than 7 days have passed since you purchased them.

As described in the document below, if your AWS account is managed by AWS Organizations, I think the best thing you can do right now is to share Saving Plans within your organization to avoid wasting costs.
If you don't use AWS Organizations and don't share it with other AWS accounts, it will be a waste of money.

You can't modify or cancel Savings Plans. To increase your hourly commitment, purchase additional Savings Plans. You can schedule your Savings Plans purchases for a specific date and time in the future. For more information, see Can I schedule my Savings Plan to renew automatically?

Savings Plans are limited to the account that purchases them. You can't transfer them across accounts, but you can share benefits that you purchase through AWS Organizations within that organization.
