Filters for CloudWatch Dashboard widgets

Have a look at Custom Widgets for CloudWatch Dashboards. You can achieve what you want with one. There is a sample widget called Logs Insights query editor that can be deployed directly from within a CloudWatch Dashboard that should give you a good starting point.
