Setting the password for a new account created via AWS Organizations

0

I created a new account through the 'Add new account' feature in AWS Organizations. During account creation, only the email address was requested, and no separate password input was required. In this case, how can I set the password for the newly created account? During the login process, I used the 'Forgot password' feature and received a password reset link, but the message 'Password recovery failed. Password recovery is disabled for your AWS account. Please contact your administrator for further assistance.' was displayed

Hello.

It's likely that AWS root user password recovery is disabled for your account.

Sign in to your AWS Organizations management account, select "Root access management" from the IAM console, and then select the target AWS account.
Try enabling password recovery for the root user as shown in the image below.

By the way, if you manage your account with AWS Organizations, you may also be able to access it using IAM Identity Center, so please check that as well.
Generally, the root user of your AWS account should only be used in emergencies.
