Cannot stop a serive

Question

Hello, I am learning to use terraform and aws. I created a cluster and a installed a flask application with helm. Everything was working fine but
then i deleted the eks cluster from the dashboard. Now terraform destroy wont work and i cannot stop the instances that have been created.
Every time i stop them they keep coming up again.  I just need to stop everything would be grateful for any ideas on how to do that.

I managed to do it and found out about terraform state rm. Thank you for your help!

It seems like you have a drift - your EKS cluster is in Terraform state file, but not actually present. Try to remove it from state by using [terraform state rm](https://www.terraform.io/cli/commands/state/rm) and make sure there is no difference between state and actual resources. After that you should be able to destroy everything using Terraform
