AWS EMR: Unexpected error when trying to retrieve Serverless applications. Please try again later.

I have created an EMR studio, a serverless application and a workspace. I followed the steps described in the documentation Getting started with EMR Serverless and ensured that I assumed the correct role and updated the trust policy. After launching the workspace, I clicked on the Compute section to attach the application, but I got the error: "Unexpected error when trying to retrieve Serverless applications. Please try again later".

I have tried several times to attach it and even created applications with different EMR release versions (7.0.0 and 6.15) but the error still persists.

I initially thought the problem was with the application itself, so I tested if it works by submitting a batch spark job and that worked as expected. Has anyone come across the same issue? How can I resolve this?
