Give someone the AMI

0

Hello everyone

You made an AMI. Now my question is if you can give that AMI to another AWS account (if it makes a difference: Both accounts are in the same AWS organization)?
I can share the AMI with someone so that it is in "My AMI's>Shared with me". But then I still have the right to remove access to that AMI for the person I share it with.

Is there any way to pass on that AMI to the person without making sure that I can't remove the access?

The situation is as follows, we want to let a freelancer create an AMI with different things on it. But the freelancer should not be the boss of the AMI afterwards. So that the freelancer doesn't have any rights to it afterwards.
In a nutshell: That the AMI will be ours instead of the freelancer's.

Thank you in advance!

Found it.

Altough it's not directly possible to "give" an AMI to someone, you have to copy it.

You can share the created AMI with someone (make sure you checked [Add "create volume" permissions to the following associated snapshots when creating permissions: snap xxxxxxxx]) .
He can Copy the shared AMI to his own list of AMI's
Now he's the owner.
