Getting "errorMessage": "Unknown service: 'bedrock-agent-runtime' in lambda function when using with Boto3 in python code.

but able execute aws bedrock-agent-runtime retrieve-and-generate in CLI

Hello.

I think the version of boto3 may be old.
Please update the boto3 version to the latest version.

Looking at the changelog below, "bedrock-agent-runtime" has been added since 1.33.2.
So I think you need to make sure your boto3 version is newer than this.

If you are using Lambda, I recommend that you follow the documentation below to create the latest boto3 layer. https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/lambda-python-runtime-errors

But i am facing this issue in a lambda function which i think always uses latest Boto version. Please suggest how to check boto version being used by Lambda

Lambda's boto3 is not using the latest version. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/lambda-runtimes.html
You can also check using the code below.

import boto3 def lambda_handler(event, context): print(boto3.__version__)
