There is no default password.
After signing in your SageMaker Studio Lab account, you access the instance via the Open project
button where you get access to Jupyter Lab interface.
Is there any particular reason you need to have default password? Amazon SageMaker Studio Lab instance is fully managed by AWS and it's preinstalled with common packages and libraries. you don't need to switch to privileged user in order to install additional packages/libraries. "studio-lab-user" should have sufficient permissions for you to perform most common tasks.
Studio Lab does not give SUDO access. That is one of the limitations of this service.
I dont have sufficient permissions to install psmisc?
(studiolab) studio-lab-user@default:/sagemaker-studiolab-notebooks$ apt update
Reading package lists... Done

(studiolab) studio-lab-user@default:/sagemaker-studiolab-notebooks$ apt install psmisc

What is the default password for the AWS SageMaker studio lab instance terminal?
Please refer to the image in the post above.
I am also unable to login as root in the cli with the command
as it requires a password to login as admin.
