Route Calculator: Alternative Routes

Using Amazon Location Services, is there a way to retrieve the alternative routes of getting from origin to destination. It appears that the best possible route is selected when calling the calculate route/calculate route matrix api's. However the routes chosen by the API are not preferable to the alternative routes you could find on a map directions application (e.g. google).
