Is it the reception settings on Amazon SES?

I followed that link and published MX record. But my email bounced back saying: authentication required. Meanwhile inbound-smtp seems not working, when I used telnet to it. I have to use email-smtp…
What I want is to forward incoming emails to my postfix server on ec2, not to s3. Not sure how to do that.
