Hello.
If you want to temporarily take a backup, please create an AMI using the steps in the document below.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/toolkit-for-visual-studio/latest/user-guide/tkv-create-ami-from-instance.html
If you want to back up your EC2 regularly, I recommend setting up AWS Backup or Data Lifecycle Manager.

Currently, there are three ways to back up AWS EC2 instances:
- EBS snapshots
- Create an AMIs
- Create an AWS Backup plan
For first one, rely to this: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ebs/latest/userguide/ebs-creating-snapshot.html
For AMI, check this video out on how to backup your ec2 instance: https://youtu.be/y7DDzU0KGxw?feature=shared
If you instead want to leverage aws backup, take a look at this workshop: https://aws.amazon.com/getting-started/hands-on/amazon-ec2-backup-and-restore-using-aws-backup/
