Will adding VPN already in use to a new transit gateway cause an outage?

I'm wanting to transition over to using transit gateways. I have an existing connection that works and wanting to add that same connection to a new transit gateway. Will have both of these connection cause an outage?

You can expect to see some convergence..probably a minute or two.
And of course if your route tables aren't dialed in, you will have other problems as well...if you aren't propagating them, you need to audit carefully.
