Today 14/05/2024 marks the availability of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) M7gd instances featuring local NVMe-based SSD block-level storage of up to 3.8 TB in the South America (Sao Paulo) region.

These instances, powered by Graviton3 processors and DDR5 memory, leverage the AWS Nitro System https://aws.amazon.com/it/ec2/nitro/. They are ideal for applications requiring swift access to high-speed, low-latency local storage, such as those necessitating temporary storage for scratch space, temporary files, and caches. Notably, they boast up to 45% enhanced real-time NVMe storage performance compared to their Graviton2-based counterparts. Moreover, Graviton3-based instances consume up to 60% less energy for equivalent performance, facilitating a reduction in your cloud-based carbon footprint.

The availability of M7gd instances extends across several AWS regions, including US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), Europe (Spain, Stockholm, Ireland, Frankfurt, Paris), Asia Pacific (Tokyo, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney), and now, South America (Sao Paulo).

For further details, visit the Amazon EC2 M7gd instances page https://aws.amazon.com/it/ec2/instance-types/m7g/ , and to commence utilization, access the AWS Management Console.
