AWS SSM Inventory Reports for Running Instances Only

Question

Hi

I receive reports only for running instances when exporting or querying reports. Currently, if you terminate a managed node that is set up to gather inventory data, Systems Manager will keep the inventory data for a period of 30 days before deleting it. When you download or query, it includes terminated instances as well.

There is one option of using this solution

But if i want to get same reports using Athena . Is it possible

You should be able to query the report using Athena. Take a look at this knowledge article that talks about QuickSight integration. Toward the end of the article, it mentions a way to filter out data on terminated instances by joining multiple tables including aws_instanceinformation table.
