Unable to upscale resolution when using Newest Nvidia GRID/vGPU Drivers (511.65)

0

Hello,

We seem to have an issue with Nice DCV where we cannot upscale the resolution past 1440x990 when using to connect to an AWS instance with newest GRID/vGPU drivers 511.65. In the past we have always used a specific version of vGPU/Grid driver 443.05 which works and allows the upscale to 1920x1080. We tested updating the GPU drivers but this blocks us from upscaling past 1440x990. If you were to RDP to the instance, this works and allows the upscale resolution. This only effects us when trying to use the Nice DCV web access.

We have also tried different versions of Nice DCV with different newest vGPU drivers but we still get the same issue.

Has anyone else come across this issue?

Thanks Rob

Hello Rob, thank you for posting.

There does appear to be a known issue regarding GRID drivers and limited display resolution. During my review of the issue I found that this is often related to licensing. When downloading the GRID driver directly from the AWS S3 bucket, it includes automatic issuing of a GRID license when installed, whereas if the driver is downloaded directly from Nvidia this automatic licensing does not occur. Please refer to "Option 3" in the documentation page referenced below[1] for instructions on obtaining the GRID driver from the S3 bucket.

If you continue to experience difficulty after downloading the driver from the S3 bucket, I encourage you to open a support case so that our team of Support Engineers can investigate the specifics of the issue.

Hello! If you have found an issue between NICE DCV and a specific NVIDIA driver version, we will probably need to escalate this to the Service Team to perform an investigation. I would suggest opening a case with AWS Premium Support. In this case, please provide the instance ID as well as the NICE DCV server logs and the specific NICE DCV version you are using. If you can only reproduce via the web browser and not the Windows NICE DCV client, you can also provide HAR logs https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/support-case-browser-har-file/
