No metrics in Amazon Translate and CloudWatch dashboards

I'm using Amazon Translate from a Java application running on an EC2 instance. I created a user with limitted permissions (only TranslateReadOnly policy). The translate is working fine.

When I look in the Amazon Translate and CloudWatch dashboards I don't see any metrics. It just says "No activity during the selected time range. To see activity in your account, choose a longer time range.". I'm looking in the same region and tried different time ranges. But can't view any metrics. Can't find useful documentation about this topic.

Do I need to add another policy for the metrics? Or do I need to do something else to view the metrics?
