It's unlikely Cognito will be down. To see if the service is reachable, you should just make requests as normal or you can do a fetch
on the openid endpoint for the service.
For Cognito user pools that is (replace <region>
and <userPoolId>
):
https://cognito-idp.<region>.amazonaws.com/<userPoolId>/.well-known/openid-configuration
For Cognito identity pools that is (replace <region>
):
https://cognito-identity.<region>.amazonaws.com/.well-known/openid-configuration
There is no guarantee your requests will succeed after hitting these urls successfully however.

So is there any other way to check if the was cognito is working or not as I want to implement condition-based SSO integration...
@Varshil can you explain why you want to see if Cognito is up? What is condition-based SSO? If it's because you want to fail over to another region, these links may help: https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/implementations/cognito-user-profiles-export-reference-architecture/ https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/architecture/how-unitedhealth-group-improved-disaster-recovery-for-machine-to-machine-authentication/
